Karadeniz International Journal of Social Sciences evaluates all submitted manuscripts through a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the assessment.
Authors are required to remove all identifying information (names, institutions, acknowledgments) from the manuscript file before submission.
According to the publication fee policy, submissions for which the payment has not been completed will not enter the review process.
1. Preliminary Evaluation
- Authors must upload the signed Copyright Transfer Form in PDF format to the journal system.
- Manuscripts must comply with the Author Guidelines and be submitted via DergiPark in Word format.
- The Editor-in-Chief evaluates the submission for relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, scientific contribution, and ethical compliance. Non-compliant manuscripts are rejected at this stage.
2. Reviewer Assignment and Evaluation
- Accepted manuscripts are sent to at least two independent reviewers specialized in the relevant field.
- Reviewers confirm their availability within one week.
- The standard review period is 15 days; an additional 7 days may be granted in special cases or new reviewers may be assigned.
- If one reviewer rejects the manuscript, a third reviewer is appointed.
- Articles receiving two positive reviews proceed to the language editing stage and then to publication.
- If the third reviewer also rejects the paper, it is not published. In this case, reviewer fees are deducted, and the remaining payment is refunded to the author.
3. Revision and Editorial Decision
- Authors must revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments within the specified period.
- If authors disagree with a reviewer’s comment, they must justify their position in detail.
- The final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who may make an independent decision based on scientific merit and COPE guidelines.
The editorial and review process strictly adheres to the COPE Core Practices.
