Publication Fee

1. Introduction

The Karadeniz International Journal of Social Sciences is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that operates independently without any institutional or financial support. The journal’s mission is to promote high-quality research in the field of social sciences and to strengthen scientific communication globally. In this regard, the journal follows a transparent and ethical publication fee policy in compliance with international standards such as COPE, DOAJ, and Scopus.

2. Publication Fee Policy

2.1. General Principles

A publication fee is required for manuscripts accepted for publication. This fee is solely used to cover editorial, technical, and maintenance costs such as peer review management, DOI assignment, typesetting, archiving, and indexing. The journal operates on a non-profit basis.

2.2. Publication Fee and Purpose of Use

For manuscripts that are accepted for publication in the Karadeniz International Journal of Social Sciences, a total publication contribution fee of 2500 TL is charged.

This fee is collected to ensure that the journal can be published in an open-access format and that the publication process is conducted in a proper and sustainable manner. The fee is used to cover the editorial, technical, and administrative work carried out by journal staff during the preparation of the manuscript for publication. Within this scope, the fee covers services including but not limited to:

  • Management and monitoring of editorial processes,

  • Technical editing, typesetting, and publication preparation,

  • DOI assignment and preparations for indexing processes,

  • Online open-access publication of the article,

  • Digital archiving and ensuring long-term accessibility.

The journal does not pursue any commercial profit. All publication contribution fees are used solely to support the sustainability of the journal’s publishing activities.

The manuscript, including appendices, must not exceed 23 pages. In cases where this page limit is exceeded, an additional contribution fee may be applied for each extra page.

2.4. Refunds and Waivers

If the publication process is terminated at any stage, fees will be refunded after deducting the costs of completed steps. Authors with financial difficulties may request a discount or waiver.
